Did you missed the latest reboot release of the Wonder Woman (WW)series? Wait what?…Why is Wonder Woman traveling to the world of Cyber Security (CS)? How will she get there? When was the reboot release date?

On February 22, 2022 at 5:45 pm, the release of the series launched. WW experiences her first day on this journey to Cyber Security world. Her goal is to secure the bag. She has less than 6 to months to secured the bag. Once the bag is secured her life will be changed forever.

In this series, WW, is 37 years old, married for 19 years and birthed 9 children in 11 years. Seems like a lot, right? Her professional interest lead her to become an Accountant. All 9 of her children are homeschooled, the oldest 6 children are involved in sports, which is football, basketball & track. She literally pick up and drop off children from 2pm to 8pm some days.

To add more to her plate with basically no experience, she wants to travel into the world of cyber security. Lets see how her first day went.

Once homeschool hours has concluded(I’m exhausted), my children older four children has to be dropped off at 2 pm because both my older two daughters have basketball practice, and one son has game at 4pm. I have my first of class at 5:45pm. So I went to my son game at 4pm, left at the end of the 3rd qtr to pick up my daughter from basketball practice at 5pm so I can make back home by 5:45 pm. On the way home, I dropped my daughter off at the high school where her older three siblings where to watch basketball games. I plan on picking up, my older 4 children, a little after 9pm because the game should be over around nine, my class get out at 9pm, perfect, right? I made it home on time for my 3 hour class to start. I put a movie on to keep my younger 5 children occupied. Oh no, I didn’t cook dinner, ‘pin it’. (pin it means I will figure it out but not right now)Whew I am so tired. I heat up my coffee and I am ready for my first day of class.

The fist day of class I learned that the most important concept to remember is the CIA Triad : Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability and the exact opposite Attacker’s Triad: Disclosure, Destruction, and Disclosure.

I also learned the difference between the Blue and Red team, Black, white and grey hats. The blue team is the “defender” in CS. The blue team is responsible for maintaining any infrastructure attacks. This includes maintaining the security system, preventing breaches, monitor potential threats, and research security technology. The red team is the “offender” in CS. The red team tries to penetrate the infrastructure to expose any weaknesses and vulnerabilities, make sure Humpty Dumpty wall doesn’t fall😂. This is to make sure your defense is not suspectable to any penetration.

I was introduced to new material via YouTube videos, websites and blogs to expand my knowledge. I will check these out by my next class which is in two days. Gaining advice about when to take certain certifications, pretests to the certs exist and marketing my capabilities.

On the 2 ten minute breaks given during class, I cooked loaded potatoes for dinner. Surprisingly, the class actually ended at 9:30 instead if 9pm and the game was over at 8:30 and my children are ready for pickup. Why is the game over so fast? So I did what I had to do….left them at the school until my class was over.

So far I have all the support from my family. Jesus gives me strength on a daily basis. Some are wondering why would I add CS to my plate? I love the concept of protecting everything that interacts with humans in which is connected to the world. I am a natural protector everyday with my family. Why not actually get paid to do what I love to do. I love computers and defense on every level of anything. I also wish to stay current with the innovation in technology. It’s constantly changing and I refuse to be left behind.

Day 2 of Class- Another busy day as usual. I had to miss my daughter last basketball game of her season, because I would have been late for class. 😒 On the bright side I am one day closer to “securing the bag”.

Today I learned about System Terminologies, Security Technologies, Cyberspace Mutual Area and the CIA.

Assets consists of tangible and/or intangible forms of items possessed. This can range from money, software, cars, servers etc. Threats are the possibility of being attacked by anyone. Risks is the potential damage incurred due to a cyber security attack. Vulnerabilities are areas within tangible or intangible protocols within the security structure has weakness. This can consist of an unlocked door, default passwords, unpatched operating systems, etc. Exploits are the knowledge of the vulnerability.

I also learned that a firewall can be is a piece hardware or software. It inspects, control incoming and outgoing traffic and detects protocols that is determined in the parameters.

The mutual area in cyber space is cyberspace information. This is the information shared through computer networks. The cybersecurity and information security protects the authenticity of systems.

The CIA, is not the civilian CIA, this pertains to the confidentiality, integrity and availability which is apart of a triad system to protect information/data . Confidentiality gives the correct access to the authorized user. Integrity makes sure the information is accurate and original. Availability is making sure the request made is accessible to the authorized user at optimal compacity.

  • My thoughts-

I am thoroughly enjoying the class. I want to learn more about how to exploit vulnerabilities and how to patch them. I can’t wait to get some hacking and defensive skills.
